Keiko
In mid-July 1998, construction of the 250-foot long sea
pen that is to hold Keiko was completed in Klettsvik Bay, Vestmannaeyjar,
Iceland. On July 21, 1998, the Icelandic news media received copies of a
letter to the Free Willy Keiko Foundation threatening to kill Keiko using
poisoned fish {{or poisoning water in Keiko's pen. Icelandic media report
that Keiko is scheduled to arrive in Iceland on Sept. 10, 1998.}} [Assoc
